Aligned incentives

Why our incentives are aligned with yours

Last updated · FloorIt

Quick answer

Our incentives are aligned with yours because our long-term money comes from the finish you reorder, and you only reorder when you're doing jobs. So we do best when you're busy, not on the day you sign up.

Plenty of programs make their money up front and then disappear. Ours is built the other way around.

The chain

  1. 1

    You get jobs

We help you run your ads and fill your calendar

  2. 2

    You sell jobs

We train you to close the job at the estimate

  3. 3

    You use finish

    Every job uses finish

  4. 4

    You reorder from us

And that is where we profit

Our incentives are directly aligned to help you get more jobs. When you get more jobs, you use more finish. When you use more finish, you order more from us, and that is where we profit. We partnered with a manufacturer to get you a high-quality, professional finish.

If you stop doing jobs, we stop earning from you, so it's in our interest to keep your calendar full. That's the whole model, and it's why we spend so much time on your leads and your sales.

We earn when you reorder finish, so we do best when you are busy.

What that means in practice

  • We bring you your first 50 leads, because a business with no customers fails
  • We coach you every week, because a partner who sells well reorders
  • We tell you the truth about the numbers, because a partner with the wrong expectations quits
  • We only take one partner per area, because two partners fighting over the same homes hurts both

Every one of those costs us time or money up front. We do them because a busy partner is the only kind that pays us back over time.

Why we partnered with a manufacturer

We partnered with a manufacturer to get you a high-quality, professional finish, made under the FloorIt label. It is a two-part, water-based urethane, made in Cabot, Arkansas. On its data sheet it loses 45 mg in a 1,000-cycle Taber abrasion test, scores 90 on Koenig hardness and has a 0.87 static coefficient of friction, so it grips underfoot. It is rated for residential, commercial and sport floors.

A finish that holds up means happy customers, reviews, referrals and repeat work when the floor comes due again. That's good for you, and it's good for us. Cheap finish fails early, and a failed floor costs you the customer and the referral.

Compared with a royalty

A franchise gets paid on the buy-in, plus fees and royalties, whether or not it helped you find customers. We don't take a cut of your jobs. Our long-term income depends on you doing more of them.

On our example $2,499 job, a 6% royalty would be about $150. With FloorIt, that stays with you. A royalty also keeps coming due in slow months, and some franchises add monthly minimums on top. That is an example, not a promise.

Where we are honest about the limits

We would rather say that than hide it. It's why we cut our profit on the package on purpose and make our money on the finish you reorder. It's also why we check your area before your call and tell you if the demand isn't there, why there's a 30-Day Action-Taker Guarantee, and why you own everything we build. The package gets you started. The long-term relationship only pays if you're doing jobs.

You pay the package when you join, whatever happens next.
